He was born in Việt Nam on November 25, 1945 to Chánh Huỳnh and Kiêm Lâm. He was married to Tuyết Thu Huỳnh for 39 years. Xuan had a career in dentistry working in his own private practice for 27 years.
He had a passion for traveling the world, learning about other cultures, and of course, finding good food.
He was preceded in death by his parents Chánh Huỳnh and Kiêm Lâm, and his siblings Paulette Trần, Vân Huỳnh, Thiên Huỳnh and Lệ Thu Huỳnh.
He is survived by his wife Tuyết Thu Huỳnh; his daughter Kimchi Huynh-Van Loocke, her husband Vincent Van Loocke, and their son Henry Van Loocke; and his son Alexander Thắng Huỳnh.
