As a child, she enjoyed watching TV with her mom. She really enjoyed cooking, something that she had a huge ambition on and eventually received a certificate in culinary school. She loved playing loteria and drinking coffee and diet coke. One of her greatest accomplishments became when she walked her daughter down the aisle and when she watched her grandchildren graduate. Her favorite song was “Un Puno De Tierra” by Ramon Ayala and her favorite color was maroon. In her free time she enjoyed watching scary movies. She also indulged in going holiday shopping, which brought her immense joy buying gifts for other. She enjoyed going to the dollar store and placing flowers on her parents and siblings gravesites.
Yrene is survived by her daughter Graciela Davila (Mauro Davila); her sisters Guadalupe Maldonado, Adelina Martinez (Emidio Martinez) and Mary Mendoza (Juan Mendoza); her grandchildren Gabrielle Lopez (Jose Lopez), Breaxes Chavez, Deovion Chavez, Isaah Chavez, and Emily Davila; and her great grandson Mason Lopez.
Yrene was preceded in death by her father Gill Maldonado and her mother San Juana Maldonado; her siblings Felipe Maldonado, San Juana Maldonado and Gill Maldonado Jr. (Lisa Maldonado); her grandparents Manuel Narro, Maria Narro, Claro Maldonado and Maurillo Maldonado.
A visitation for Yrene will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel, 5100 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77022 with a service at 2:00 PM.
