Antone Nunes Rocha Jr. peacefully passed away on March 22, 2016 at the age of 90 in Manteca, CA. He was born in Beatrice, CA to parents Antone and Mary Rocha and was raised in Ferndale, CA. From 1942 – 1946, Anonte served in Navy during World War II. He later became the owner and operator of his own trucking business for 70 years. Antone was a hardworking man who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Some of his hobbies included attending Navy reunions, truck shows and dancing. He was a member of the LST Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Ferndale Museum.
Antone is survived by his sons David (Brenda) Rocha and Robert (Terri) Rocha, two grandchildren Matthew and Charley, two great granddaughters, brother Franklin Rocha and sister Irene Kessler. He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Verna Rocha, brother Joe Rocha and sister Mary Gomes. Antone will be dearly missed by all those who know and love him.
A viewing will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 10:00 am in State Room 1. A Graveside Service will Follow at 11:30 am at Lakewood Memorial Park in the Honor Garden.
