Barbara Ann Bystrom

Barbara was born September 6 , 1942 in Escalon, California and passed February 2, 2015 in Modesto. She was the 7th of 8 children born to John and Ola Kee. She attended Dent Union and Escalon High School, graduating in 1960. Barbara married Byron Eric Bystrom on November 30, 1963. After their marriage, she and her husband moved to Inglewood, San Luis Obispo, and eventually to Modesto to be near family and friends. Over the years Barbara was employed by Pacific Bell, Modesto City Hospital, and Doctor's Medical Center.

Barbara leaves behind her husband Byron of 51 years, her daughter Kim Bystrom of Valley Springs, her son Greg Bystrom of Spring Creek, NV, grandaughter Kelsey Leichtung and her husband Andrew of Modesto, grandson Derek Sereno of Belmont, grandson Colton Bystrom of Spring Creek, NV,and grandaughter Keelie Bystrom of Spring Creek, NV. She also leaves behind sisters Mildred Orr and Norma Dismukes both of Modesto, brothers John Kee of Modesto and Fred Kee of Pismo Beach, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ola Kee, sisters Camilla Goodman and Wanda Kee, and brother Bill Kee.

Barbara's joy in life was her family. She loved traveling with her husband, Byron, in their motorhome, visiting their favorite vacation spots - Pismo Beach and Minden, NV. She also enjoyed genealogy, reading, and doing crossword puzzles.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, February 10th at 11:00 a.m in the Riverside Chapel, Lakewood Memorial, 900 Santa Fe, Hughson, CA with reception to immediately follow. No visitation.
