Billie Alexander Eaton

Billie was born in Somerton Arizona, the 1st of 3 girls, to Henry and Pearl Chisum. She spent her early years moving frequently, making friends easily and then having to leave them behind. Billie graduated in 1953 from Brawley High School and moved to Ceres. She worked at the Ceres Drug Store where she met her first husband Arden "Rick" Alexander. They married in June of 1955 and made their home in Ceres. Billie vowed she'd never move again. She started working at the Pauls Rexall Drug Store where she always had a friendly smile from behind the penny candy counter for more than 20 years. She knew everyone in town, especially the kids.

After the passing of Rick in 1981, Billie later met Raymond Eaton whom she married. Billie enjoyed camping in her 5th wheel trailer with the Out Of Bounders Club. She loved to line dance and always had a box of cornmeal to toss on the floor. Billie could make something from nothing, especially her famous hair combs that you couldn't help but stare at their craftsmanship. Billie was a member of the Waterford Sportsmens Club, Loyal Order Of The Moose, Modesto #1608, Women Of The Moose chapter #479, and after the passing of Ray became a member of The Senior Citizens Club of Ceres.

Billie savored life, gaining strength everytime she lifted herself up when life knocked her down. She was a loving mother with a hug that wrapped around your heart .She was a true and loyal friend that told you "don't worry I've got you covered." And the promise she made to herself she kept. Billie never moved again. She lived in her home for 55 years.

Billie is survived by her daughter Phyllis Alexander of Ceres, her son Michael Alexander of Mesa, Ariz. her 2 sisters Maida Cunningham of Lancaster, Ca. and Nedra Hatherill of Jamul, Ca., 6 grandsons and 1 great granddaughter.

Billie was proceded in death by her youngest daughter Jennifer Alexander.

A visitation will be held Monday Dec.17 from 4-8pm at Lakewood Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place Tues. Dec.18 at 10:30am.
