

Bobby Lee Hilsabeck, age 90, of Hughson, California passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. Bob was born in Mt. Grove Missouri, to Floyd Hilsabeck and Alma Moore. His family relocated to California in 1945. Bob graduated from Oakdale High School, class of '51, and he excelled in track and field and pole vaulting. Bob married his High School sweetheart, Suzanne Senseney in 1952, before being deployed to Korea. He served 17 months of active duty, earning two medals; sharpshooter and good conduct. He was a devoted father and husband. Bob earned a BA at MJC and secured a position in the Trade & Tech Dept, teaching Auto Body collision repair and painting. He retired in 1993 after 35 years of teaching. Bob was an avid motorcyclist, boater and water-skier, snow skier, and Jalopy/Stockcar racer in the early years of Stockton Speedway. He restored several classic/antique cars and loved driving in Modesto's Graffiti Parade. Their golden years were spent RV-ing throughout America, with lifelong friends. Bob and Sue were active members of the local Model A Club. They attended St. Peter's Lutheran Church, in Modesto, Ca.
The couple enjoyed 64 years of marriage before Bob was widowed in 2016. His passing was peaceful in his home, in Hughson Ca, surrounded by pictures of his beautiful wife.
He is survived by two children; Debbie Wolski and Kevin Hilsabeck of Ceres, Ca. and their spouses, Henryk Wolski and Lisa Hilsabeck.
Three grandchildren; Raina Clark and her husband Dr. Dean Clark of Louisville KY. Cory Hilsabeck of Grass Valley, Ca. Alexander Wolski and his wife Brooklyn Dawn Wolski of Dallas TX.
Three great-grandchildren; Kirsten Clark of Louisville KY, Kayla and her husband Reverend Brian Van Doren of Houston, TX. Madilynn Altadonna of Modesto, Ca.
Five great-great grandchildren; Elias and Valor Grassman of Louisville, KY. Samuel, Titus, and Anastasia Suzanne Van Doren, of Houston, TX.
Bob was loved and respected by friends and family. He will be greatly missed. His was a life well lived.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 29, 2022, at Lakewood Memorial Park,900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson, CA., at 11:00 am.
