Bryan L Morrett passed away at his home in Hughson on February 26th, after his brave battle with a rare form of cancer. He was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Torrance, CA. In 1984 he received his BS in Ag Science and Management from UCDavis. He spent two years as a cowboy in the Tetons of WY, and in California east of the Sierras. Bryan later returned to the vet school at UCD and received his DVM in 1994. He had been a practicing vet in Stanislaus County ever since, and was a partner with Mid Valley Large Animal Services in Turlock. His lifelong personal mission was to help feed the world the safest possible products, and considered many of his clients to be good friends.
Bryan was an enthusiastic outdoorsman, enjoying camping, fishing, hunting, and scuba. He loved to share the proceeds with friends and family, and taught himself to be an excellent cook. With his extensive knowledge of science and how the world works, he could fix or manufacture just about anything. Never liking to be idle, Bryan taught himself many skills including leather tooling, woodworking, gardening, reloading, home repair, etc. He was an easy, friendly conversationalist, able to speak at length with anyone about anything, never having forgotten his own humble beginnings.
Bryan was preceded in death by his father, Henry. He is survived by his mother, Marilyn; his loving wife, Carol; and their three beautiful and treasured children, Katherine, Zachary, and Michael; all of Hughson. Bryan fought strong and hard and up until his last day did not want to leave his family. We will love him and miss him always.
