Buddy Daymon Byrd

Buddy was born in Peoria AZ and moved to the Bay Area at a very young age with his parents Merritt and Ruby Mae Byrd. He had a mechanical mind and learned machining from his father-in-law, which launched a 45-year career with the last 25 years as an owner of a screw machine shop. He was a teacher and proceeded to pass on his legacy to his sons, daughter, granddaughter, and grandson.

He spent the last 20 years in retirement enjoying his home in Manteca working in his yard, tending to his coin collection, working on puzzles, and collecting toy cars. He was a collector like no other. He loved his bird JoJo of 45 years, and his faithful dog Rudy.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Alberta L. Byrd and his second wife Betty Jo Byrd. He is survived by his children: Tom Byrd, Ricky Byrd, Donna Byrd, Terri Flack, and their spouses. His Grandchildren: Joshua Byrd, Janelle Obleness, Jacob Byrd, Ricky Byrd Jr, Roxanne Barton, Jillian Byrd, Shantel Kellogg, Christopher Spirock, and Matthew Spirock.

We ask that you remember Dad for the way he lived his life and know there is no expiration date between the love of a father and his children.

A graveside ceremony for Buddy will take place on Tuesday, March 18th at 1:00 PM. Buddy will be laid to rest in the Peacevale Garden, located at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Avenue in Hughson, CA.
