Carmen Christina Tejada Eleria (1950–2022) was 71 years of age and Carl Mark T. Eleria (1975–2022) was 46 years of age. They both resided in Milpitas and Patterson, California for the last 31 years. Carmen died on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at 6pm. Carl died the previous day Saturday, February 5th, 2022 at 2am, both in Modesto, California from medical treatment complications and ultimately organ failures.
Carmen was born on May 3, 1950 in Isabela, Philippines, to her parents, Leonard & Alvina Tejada. She had 9 siblings: Hortensia, Clifford, Donald (deceased), Paul, Constantino (deceased), Marie, Gilbertine, Florence, and Amador. She was married for almost 36 years to Mario R. Eleria. They were married on July 26, 1975, in Manila, Philippines. She attended Centro Escolar and University of the East in Manila, Philippines and became a Budget Officer in the Malacañang Palace, Philippines Government (1974-1977); she was mostly a homemaker and also taught for a period as nursery teacher in Nigeria, Africa (1977-1987). She continued to be a homemaker and teacher to her children in Manila, Philippines (1987-1991); then when she finally immigrated to the US, she took on various jobs such as joining the retail workforce with companies like Steinmart and Saks Off 5th in Milpitas, California (1991-2004). Thereafter, when her husband Mario became ill, Carmen decided to take some time off work so she could care for him (2004-2011); she then finally went on full retirement after he passed.
Carmen was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandma. She enjoyed traveling around the world with her husband and three children; she delighted in making her daily phone calls to her siblings, nieces, and close friends. As a daughter of God, she was a faithful believer, loved Jesus, and the scriptures. Oftentimes, you would hear her sing praises and worship songs on a nice sunny day. She embraced family values and connections most and found true joy by always being generous, thoughtful and caring. Carmen loved everyone despite her quirks. She has touched many people and will be dearly missed.
Carl was born on December 31, 1975, in Quezon City, Manila, Philippines, to his parents, Mario and Carmen Eleria. He has two siblings; Christine and Maricar, and three nephews. He was also married for 5 years (later separated) to his wife Illaine Roman on June 13, 2016, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He graduated from Milpitas High School, Class of 1995. He then enlisted with the United States Army and attended basic training in Fort Benning, Georgia; however due to a physical injury, he decided not to continue and was discharged. He returned back home and began his career in the workforce by joining companies such as HMT Corporation and BD Sciences (1996-2021) in California. He also loved the idea and was planning on working for himself someday.
Carl was also a devoted son, brother, uncle, and husband. He was a gamer, a collector, and invested in collectible toys and comic books. He also loved cars and racing; a huge fan of sci-fi movies such as Marvel and DC to name a few; and liked watching documentaries about in-depth information and topics. He was a believer in God of the universe; his character can be described as kind, gentle, loving, and caring; he enjoyed helping take care and playing with his nephews in his free time. Genuinely loyal, faithful to a fault, and he also had a quirky sense of humor; always helpful and generous too. Carl has very big shoes to fill and will be greatly missed.
Carmen is survived by 7 siblings named above and Carl is survived by his spouse Illaine Roman (later separated) of San Jose, California. Both Carmen and Carl are also survived by her daughters/his sisters Christine Eleria-Fairfax & Maricar Eleria Balancio; her sons/his brothers-in-law Nathan Lee Tobias Fairfax of England and Ernest D. Balancio of Milpitas; and last but not least, her 3 grandchildren/his nephews, Elijah Marcus, Tobias Ethan Lucas, and Noah Sebastian Eli. All are residents of Milpitas/Patterson, California.
