

Born on June 26, 1953 to parents Bernard and Hendrene (Vis) Stuit, Cheryl was one of seven daughters. Her life was marked by her selfless and thoughtful nature, which left an inspirational impact on all who knew her.
Cheryl and her beloved husband, Don, were married 46 years before his passing last December. They spent much of their time traveling to Carmel where they created countless joyful memories together. Her love for her community was evident through her active involvement in various activities. Cheryl prepared and served food for church functions, attended Bible Study Fellowship and dedicated her time to helping at the Redwood Family Center. She was a lifelong member of the Modesto Christian Reformed Church, where her presence was greatly valued.
Cheryl is survived by her sisters Myna Gandy, Helen Bakker, Marlys DeJong (Chuck), Joyce Pater (Marv), Melinda Van Nieuwenhuyzen (Larry), and Melissa Gardner (Justin); her sisters-in-law Sandy Cunningham and Karen Loewen (Daniel); step son-in-law Jay; grandson Brandon; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in passing by her husband Don; her parents Bernard and Hendrene Stuit; parents-in-law Emmet D. and Ruby D. Gann; her brothers-in-law Ron Gandy, Pete Bakker, Henry Van de Pol, and Glen Cunningham; and her stepdaughter Michelle.
A Celebration of Life for Cheryl will be held on Friday, November 21 at 11:00AM. Her memorial will take place at Modesto Christian Reformed Church, located at 2620 College Avenue in Modesto, CA.
