Native of Texas. Lived in Hughson, CA, and surrounding area since 1941. Member of the Modesto Forever Young Club. Played in the band for 15 years. Secretary for 4 years. Riverbank Seniors Club, president for 2 years and played in the band. S.E.S. Fraternal Society, served as supreme pianist for 11 years. Also accompanied the S.E.S. choir. Secretary/treasure of council #25 of Modesto for 4 years. She enjoyed playing the piano, oil painting and RV camping.
Preceded in death by her parents, John and Bertha Rhodes; sisters, Lola Inez Beaty and Ruby Jewell Beaty; her daughter Teresa Mello. Survived by her sister Joni Houx; brothers, Raymond Rhodes and Kenny Rhodes; daughters, Sharon Barrett, Cathy Saso (Jan); grandchildren, Nichole Lerma (Manuel), Brandon Barrett (Tonia), Kyle St. John (Nicole), Lyndsay St. John (Aaron), Dustin Saso (Andrea), Rocky Saso (Monique); and 13 great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park on Thurs., Feb. 11th at 1:00pm
