Cynthia Sue Fortin

DECEMBER 27, 1934 - JULY 1, 2015 Sue Fortin (Nana) passed away peacefully with her children by her side on July 1st at the age of 80 while at Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson, California. Nana was born and raised in San Bernardino where she met Reno Fortin; they married in 1953 at the Central Church of Christ and started their family. They moved to the Central Valley in 1969 and this is where Nana was the Matriarch of the Fortin village, raising 5 children and numerous grandchildren. Nana and Papa remained the hub of the family with an open door policy and family/visitors constantly coming and going. Nana enjoyed being a member of Grace Community Christian Church. She spent many years teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir and attending her weekly ladies meeting. Nana is survived by her daughters: Karen Johnson of LaGrange, Cindy (Tony) Curci of Ceres, Julie (Greg) Methvin of Turlock and Lisa Carswell of Ceres, nine wonderful grandsons, four granddaughters and 20 great grandchildren. Sisters: Mary Fox of Fair Oaks, Freda Wysong of Riverside and numerous nieces and nephews. Nana was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years Renaud Reno" Norman Fortin, her son Michael Renaud Fortin, parents Henry Sullivant, Irene White, her siblings Henry Sullivant, Irene Mann and Edwin Sullivant. Nana was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend too many, she will remain forever in our hearts; will be greatly missed. Funeral Service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Hughson, California, visitation on Monday, July 13th from 4-8:00pm. in the Riverside Chapel.
