Dennis Paul Abrahamson

Denny passed away peacefully at Bethany Home in Ripon, CA with his family by his side. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man by everyone who knew him. He is now reunited with his wife, Dianne in Heaven.

Denny was born in Seattle, WA to Wallace and Inez Abrahamson. He grew up in the Seattle area. He attended Ballard High School and graduated from the University of Washington. He then served in the United States Marine Corps achieving a rank of Major. Upon returning from a tour of duty in Okinawa, he returned to Seattle and married his love, Dianne Morgan. They met each other at Greenwood Presbyterian Church and were married at University Presbyterian Church in 1958. They moved to San Diego where he continued his service as a Marine Officer. They returned to the Northwest to live in Port Townsend a few years later. He continued his service as a Reserve Officer into the mid 1970's.

Denny worked as a Quality Control Director in the paper industry, spending time at Crown Zellerbach and Simpson Paper for many years. His work took the family from Port Townsend to Bothell, WA and then to Redding and Modesto, CA. Denny has lived in the Modesto area for the past 43 years.

Denny and Dianne have three daughters, Karen, Laurie and Nancy, who are all thankful to have been with him for his final days. He was a wonderful Dad and "Papa Denny" to his grandchildren and will be greatly missed . Denny is preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Abrahamson, his parents, Wallace and Inez Abrahamson and his in-laws Harold and Emma Morgan. He is survived by his daughters and their families. Karen (Louie) Fredriksz, Heather, Joshua and Holly of Ripon, CA. Laurie (Carl) Saxe, Logan and Sean of Sammamish, WA. Nancy (Kieran) Baker, Abigail, Zachary and Cecelia of Alexandria, VA. His brother Kenneth (Penny) Abrahamson of Helena, MT.

Denny was a former member of First Baptist Church, currently known as Crosspoint and most recently a member of Calvary Chapel in Modesto.

A special thank you to a dear friend, Brian Heath, who regularly visited Denny many days each week. Brian and Pat Heath were longtime friends of Denny and Dianne. Karen, Laurie, and Nancy would also like to thank Bethany Home in Ripon for taking excellent care of our dad.

Services will be at Lakewood Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Hughson on Friday, July 1, 2016. Viewing is at 9 am followed by a Chapel Service at 10 am. Military Honor burial immediately following the service at the gravesite.
