Ellen Elizabeth Morgan Welch left this world to be with our Lord on May 24th, 2019, after living a very long life. She died peacefully in her sleep. She was born July 3rd, 1920 (and even in her darkest moments of Alzheimer's she never forgot this date). She was born to Pierce A Morgan and Ida Pearl Biggs Morgan in Hugo, Oklahoma. Ellen was born into a family of eight children; she was the third child and the first-born girl. When asked about her siblings, she would always say," they were alright I guess" (with a twinkle in her eyes). Today she is survived only by one sister Ethel Robinson…. Those eight children went onto to have many children, and Ellen loved being their aunt.
Ellen had two children of her own, Eugene Butch and Sharon Kay, who were adopted by her second husband, Lawrence H. Welch. They had a third child together who died near birth, Lawrence Welch. Ellen and Larry lived in Tehachapi for many years before moving to Oregon and later to Modesto to live out their retirement years. When they lived in Tehachapi, they enjoyed time with their nieces and nephews, teaching Sunday School and being an active part of their community. Their two children brought them three grandchildren: Sheri Ghossain Meir, Eugene Welch and Michael Welch. They were also blessed with one great-grand child Macie.
Ellen Welch will be remembered for being the caregiver of the family (which you could see even when she lived at the Hospitality House. She was always trying to take care of the other residents) She was kind-hearted and loved by the family and will be missed very much. Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, six of her siblings, her husband Larry, and their three children. Ellen is survived by her grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews, as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was blessed. We will be celebrating her 98 years (almost 99) years here on earth.

We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4
