

Floyd Hudson Corbett was born on May 16, 1929 in Livingston, CA to Robin M. Corbett and Lola Stanton Corbett. He married Mary Ann Cline in Glendale, CA on December 27, 1951. Floyd graduated from UCLA with a degree in Business Administration in 1954. He began his successful career in the insurance industry with The Equitable Life Insurance Company in 1960 in Fresno, CA and in 1962 was promoted to Assistant District Manager. He was subsequently selected to open the Equitable’s new District Office in Merced, CA. In 1967 the Equitable Company moved Floyd and his family to Modesto, CA where he became the District Manager. Floyd later joined the insurance office of Giddings, Corby, Hynes, Inc. where he worked until his retirement. Floyd and Mary Ann spent their retirement years in Tucson, AZ and Nipomo, CA before returning to Modesto.
Floyd was an avid and skilled golfer. He enjoyed sharing his favorite past time with Mary Ann, their family and many friends at Del Rio Country Club where they had been members since 1967. Floyd was Del Rio Club Champion in 1970, 1981, 1990 and 1991. Together Floyd and Mary Ann traveled throughout the United States and the world pursuing the game they loved.
Floyd was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ann, his parents Robin and Lola Corbett, and his brother James Corbett. Floyd is survived by his loving children, Robin W. Corbett of Milton FL, Kelly A. (Gary) Darpinian of Modesto, CA, and Allison M. (Steven) Cochran of Pace, FL. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Brian Corbett, James Darpinian, Laura Toste, Kristen Arville, Spenser Cochran, Morgan Cochran, Rylie Matisse Cochran; and four great grandchildren, Andry Corbett, Alyssa Corbett, Logan Toste and Ryan Toste.
A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Lakewood Funeral Home in State Room one. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Tuolumne Garden at Lakewood Memorial Park. Following the Graveside Service, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Del Rio Country Club 801 Stewart Road in Modesto at 12:00 pm.
