Gabriel A. Padilla, longtime resident of Modesto and Ceres, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the age of 77. Born in Jalisco, Mexico, Gabriel came to the United States and worked at Escalon Packers (Escalon Premier Brands) for over 45 years before retiring.
Gabriel is survived by his beloved wife of over 53 years, Socorro Padilla, and his three loving children: Gabriel Padilla Jr. (Mai), Angelica Pimentel (Salvador), and Anna Renteria (Jesus). He is also survived by his 11 loving grandchildren, three brothers, and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria De La Luz Padilla; father, Benjamin H. Padilla; and his sister, Maria De Jesus Reynoso.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a rosary at 6:00 p.m., at Lakewood Funeral Home – Heritage Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home – Heritage Chapel, followed by burial at Lakewood Memorial Park.
