Henry Esau passed away October 21, 2010 at Samaritan Village in Hughson,
CA, at the age of 93. Henry was born in Aberdeen, Idaho on May 23, 1917 to
Henry and Mary Esau. He grew up in the southern San Joaquin Valley and
Southern California with six brothers and four sisters. On October 24, 1941 he
married his wife Ruth.
He worked at Boeing Aircraft during World War II, and
later worked as a sales and serviceman for Van Gas Propane Company.
He enjoyed working on cars, woodworking and helping friends with their repair projects.
Henry was a member of Modesto Covenant Church. He was proud of his work in
helping build the church sanctuary.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth and son Larry in 1996.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Ted and Merrilee of Oroville, CA,
and Ron and Sandy of Sonora, CA, and daughter-in-law Marilyn of Modesto.
He was also the proud grandfather of five grandchildren; Christine of San Diego,
John of Chico, Stephanie of State College, PA, Stephen and Jennifer of Modesto
and three great grandchildren; Nicholas, Alice and Andrew. He is also survived by
three brothers and two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Avenue,
Hughson, CA, on Thursday, October 28th at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials
may be made to Modesto Covenant Church or Community Hospice of Modesto.
