A month shy of reaching the age of 102 years, Henry James Lewis was greeted by his loved ones who passed before him. Hank was born on April 11, 1913 to Joseph (Linhares) and Rose (Serpa) Lewis in Danville, CA. As a young child the family moved, (including walking the dairy herd), to the Hughson area. As a young man, Hank and his brother, Ernie, decided to change lifestyle careers and started farming peaches in the early 1960's; they were known as the “Lewis Brothers.” He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons, and watching baseball; he became an avid armchair sports fan during retirement. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and UPEC Lodge No. 116.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents; wives: Mabel (Willmirth) Lewis and Eloise (Chapman) Lewis, son, Charles Lewis, grandson, Richard Lewis, brothers: Earnest Lewis and Joe Lewis, and sister, Geraldine (Lewis) Brazil.
