João was Catholic and served his community with quiet dedication, including as the Founding Director of Alianca Jorgense Portuguese Hall in San Jose. His steady presence and respectful leadership left a lasting mark on those who had the privilege to know and work alongside him.
João is survived by his brother, Manuel Medeiros of Sao Jorge, Azores; his wife, Maria Natalia Medeiros of Modesto; and his daughter, Mary Deodete Silva of Modesto. He is also survived by his grandsons, Matthew Silva and wife Adriana Silva of Oakdale, and Mark Silva and wife Shayla Silva of Ripon; and by his great-grandchildren, Andrew, Mason, and Mia Silva of Oakdale, and Austin Silva of Ripon.
João will be remembered as a cherished, devoted, and faithful man whose life reflected deep commitment to family, community, and faith.
