John Mendes, Jr., age 86, passed away on January 25, 2013. He was born in Hilmar, CA to John and Mary Mendes on July 26, 1926. John worked in the Dairy Industry for 50 years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rosia Mendes. John is survived by his only daughter, Frances Williams of Modesto, 6 grandchildren, Wally Martin of Ceres, Wesley Martin of Modesto, Corena Vanderburg of Denair, Debbie Baughman, Darlene Baker and Dana Baker Hill all of Oklahoma, 12 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. John is also survived by his 4 sisters, Mary Garcia, Elvera George, Elsie Nunes, Frances Jepson and brother, Albert Mendes of Billings Montana, along with numerous nieces and nephews. All services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 30 from 4-8pm and Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 31 at 10am.
