John Wayne Touchatt

August 9, 1944 - June 19, 2025

John Wayne Touchatt, 80, of Modesto, California passed away peacefully Thursday June 19, 2025 surrounded by his adoring family.

John was a hardworking family man, know for his witty personality and great sense of humor. A smart and loving individual, John cherished his many family members and friends. He never met a stranger and he loved his many fur babies.

John was born in South San Francisco to Lloyd and Irene Touchatt on August 9, 1944, sixth of eleven children. He grew up in San Bruno, California and graduated from Capuchino High School in 1963.

In 1965, he began his lifelong career when he went into the trucking business with his two older brothers Charles and Warren. He started his own trucking company in 1980, becoming Owner Operator of John Touchatt Trucking, which he ran until he retired in 2019.

John was married to the love of his life Mary Louise Dodson, whom he affectionately called "Lou" for over fifty-one loving years. Together, they raised two beautiful daughters, Sherie Marie and Kimberly Ann. They share six grandchildren and four bonus grandchildren along with numerous great-grandchildren.

John was preceeded in death by his parents Lloyd and Irene; five brothers Stanley, Warren, Richard, Frank and Ronald. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou; daughters Sherie and Kimberly; brothers Charles and Wesley; sisters Gloria, Lorraine (Chez) and Nancy; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 25th from 4pm to 8pm at Lakewood Memorial Park. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 26th at 11am with graveside services to immediately follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, CA 95326.
