

Joseph Richard Tedesco (aka Joey) of Modesto, California passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve day at approximately 12:30 PM, December 24, 2023 at Sutter Memorial Hospital from a severe stroke two days prior.
Joey was born December 8, 1950 to Fiore (aka Ted) and Marietta Mancini Tedesco in Modesto, where he lived his entire life. He was a 1970 Downey High School graduate and perhaps the youngest entrepreneur Modesto has ever known, beginning his business career at age 9, shining shoes for 35 cents for Gus Lombardo Deluxe Barber Shop.
During his high school years, Joey was a member of the football team, the Faros Car Club and served an apprenticeship in repairing shoes for his uncle John Mancini’s Rapid Shoe Repair Shop. After graduating, he attended Modesto Junior College in the evenings and joined the Modesto Ski Club. His business career consists of numerous investment properties, property management, land development and owner of shopping center at 2501 McHenry Ave., owner and restaurateur of McHenry Station later known as Giuseppe’s Restaurant,
Joey had a heart of gold and loved his family and friends. He had a keen mind and a tender heart; He was the glue that kept family members in contact. He will be missed by all who knew him. He enjoyed helping others in networking opportunities for employment, services, whatever was needed.
He is survived by his beloved Zeda Bertozzi of over 20 years; brothers Ted (W-Terry, Ch: David Tedesco, Tara Leonhardt – (ch: Brooke, Natalie, Nathan, Jill) and Michael Tedesco; (ch: Ashley (Felipe); Uncle John (Julia) Mancini; 1st cousins, Lenny (Ann) Synkowicz, Marlene (Tim) Hutton, Linda Behan and Carol (Fred) Font.
Extended family members: Kerrie (Vart) Avakian, Ch: Jared (Gracie) & baby Penelope Avakian; Miranda Avakian; Terral Toler; Brittany (Gilbert) Matus, Ch: Elisala , I Maciah Matus, and Trinity Neal.
