Joyce Ann Munoz

Joyce Ann Munoz, age 80, passed away in her home after a brief battle with cancer on March 20, 2016. She was born May 1, 1935 in Hale County, Texas to Harvey and Lottie (Routon) Anderson. Raised on a farm in New Mexico, Joyce moved to Los Angeles at the age of 17. She attended business school and went to work at Hughes Aircraft. Joyce met her husband Julian (Juke) thru mutual friends. Both loved to dance and spent many evenings at the Palladium in Hollywood. Married in 1954, they moved to Riverbank and then to Modesto until 1979, when they moved to Hughson to fulfill their dream of running a walnut orchard. Until retirement, Joyce worked in the Dairy Industry and enjoyed the people she worked with. She was a staunch member of the Teamsters Union, stating that they were the only union at that time who covered clerical employees.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Lottie Anderson, her husband, Julian F. Munoz, and her brother, Edward B. Anderson. She is survived by her two children, Joan Heath (Chris) and Joseph B. Munoz (Diane) and one grandchild, Jon Austin Heath, siblings Janice Hargrave (Charlie), Jerry Lee Anderson and Richard Ray Anderson (Diana).

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday April 5 at 10:00 a.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson, CA.
