And if I go prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, that where I am, you may be also” John 14:1-3 Lane Vance Howard, at 64, was called home on Sunday, May 25, 2025, with his lifelong partner/friend, children, and grandchildren by his side. He was born in Oakdale, CA, to the late Leland and Lorna Howard on July 6, 1960. Lane was a lifelong resident of Riverbank, where he attended grammar school, middle school, and graduated from Riverbank High School in 1978. He resided in Riverbank, where he made his home with his family. Lane was an avid knife collector and passionate about good music and muscle cars. Throughout his life, he never wavered from his true roots of who he was and where he came from. He was a loving, dedicated, and hardworking man who always put the needs of others before his own. Wherever Lane was, he could always strike up a conversation about many life topics and did it so effortlessly and with charisma. After Lane retired, he put his time and energy into his home, children, and grandchildren. Lane was a man of many trades and hobbies throughout his life, but his accomplishments and biggest joys were his children and grandchildren. Being a dad and Papa is what he truly lived for each day. Lane was predeceased by his parents, Leland and Lorna Howard, brother William "Bill" Holden, sister Linda Darner, and brother Larry Howard. He is survived by his partner Cheryl Turner, his children Anna and Keith Perkins, Juliette and Julio Zermeno, Atom Garcia, and Lane and Brittney Howard, his grandchildren Noah, Elijah, Andrew, Sofia, Adan, Audyana, Ethan, Gracie, Aubrielle, Elias, Aleigha, and Mateo. Lane leaves behind many families and friends who will miss him every day. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17th, from 4-7 PM in the Heritage Chapel at Lakewood Funeral Home in Hughson, CA. The graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 18th, at 10:00 AM at Lakewood Memorial Park in the Tuolumne Garden.
