Livia Maryanna Lucks

Livia was born on July 16, 1922 in Mendocino, CA. to her parents John and Sofia Mineni. Livia’s childhood was spent in Escalon, CA on the family ranch. She graduated from Escalon High School after which she attended business school in Stockton. Like many Americans of her generation she joined the military during World War II. She became a Wave in the Navy in 1943 and served until 1946. Livia enjoyed her time in the Navy especially her time in San Francisco. It was there she met her husband, Arthur Lucks. They were married in Carmel, CA on April 14, 1948. Joan Marie, their only child, was born in 1952. Both Arthur and Joan predeceased Livia. Orangeburg Manor became Livia’s home in 2003. There she made many special friends and was treated like family by the staff. She enjoyed reading and learning about new things. If she had been younger, Google would have been her best friend. She spent hours with her friends talking about books, issues of the day, and politics.

Graveside Service will be held at 11:00, September 19, 2019 in Garden of honor, at Lakewood Memorial Park.
