July 7, 1948 - July 16, 2016
On July 16, 2016 Mark stepped into Glory. For Dad, it was better to be 'away from the body...at Home with the Lord' and reunited with his wife, Susan.
Mark was born, raised, and spent most of his life in Modesto, CA. The seasons he was away include his college years at University of Oregon and his military years in the Armed Forces. At university, in the late 60's, he pursued an education in Biological Science, as well as a young woman from Oregon State named Susan Lung. He met her on a blind date, which set them on a course to be married three years later on September 12, 1970. Soon afterward, Mark joined the Army, where he specialized in operating surface to air missiles. His years as a soldier took him mainly to Texas and Germany.
After serving his country, Mark moved the family back to Modesto. There he worked for Clark & Clark insurance, the County Government, and later in his career, for the Empire School District as a junior high science teacher.
Mark is survived by his two sons, Matthew (Sherry) and Greg (Trisha), and by six beautiful grandkids, Gwyneth, James, Annabelle, Gia, David, and Owen. He is also survived by his siblings Tim, Rick, and Cathy, and their families.
Dad is a follower of Jesus. He has been welcomed into Heaven. But we greatly, greatly miss him on the Earth. We love you, Dad.
Please join us in honoring and remembering Mark Conway on Friday, July 29th, from 2 - 4 pm at Modesto Covenant Church. Our hope is that anyone who knew and loved Mark will be able to stop by and visit with his family and with one another, will enjoy viewing pictures from Mark's life, and will have the opportunity to share a fond story or memory of him. This will be a casual time of celebrating Mark's life and grieving his loss together.
