Mary Ellen Skaggs, age 86, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014 in Hughson. She was born in Depew, Oklahoma to parents John Smith Walker and Ora Belle Gilliam Walker and was one of 7 children. Mary Ellen moved to San Francisco in 1944. She married the love of her life, John L. Skaggs on February 10th, 1945 and enjoyed 69 plus years of marriage. In 1946 they moved to Ceres, California and started their family. Mary Ellen was a wonderful Mother and homemaker. She and John built a houseboat, at their home, on which they enjoyed many summers and vacations with family and friends.
Mary Ellen is preceded in death by her loving husband, John. She is survived by her 3 children, Peggy (Thomas) Schulte, John (Janis) Skaggs, Pamela (Tony) Barro, 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 11:00AM at Lakewood Funeral Home Riverside Chapel, 900 Santa Fe Ave in Hughson.
