My Dearest Friend Melissa: I love and miss you so much. When I am struggling to understand why you were taken from us so soon, I simply remind myself of all your amazing qualities and I understand why God called you home and needed you by his side. You were a true angel on earth. You were one of the most genuine, loving and kindest souls I’ve ever known.  I am blessed that I was lucky enough to have you in my life, even if our time together was cut short. You were more than just a friend to me - you were family.  So many things in my daily life remind me of you.  Every time I hear one of our many favorite 90’s r&b songs, have a “champagne kick-off”,  enjoy a tastebud burning hot sauce or see a beautiful piece of Mexican art, I hear your beautiful and infectious laugh.  Although these moments are painful right now, I am grateful to have shared so many memories with you.  Life will not be the same without you, but I vow to honor your memory by living life to the fullest with grace and gratitude - just as you lived yours everyday. I will always remember her sweet and generous spirit. Her willingness to always go above and beyond to make her momma feel special. She did everything with class and had a unique style about herself. She glowed and had a smile that was so beautiful. Melissa you touched many lives and you traveled places you set your heart on. I admired your free spirit. I will miss you deeply. We never got to have our 2nd daughters and moms overnight party. I could go on and on. Please always know that you were loved by your family and friends. I had to think back and it took some time to remember which girl Melissa Herrera was whom I went to school with at Denair High....I wish I had a story for you but I do not. I just can't imagine what you're going through and Im sorry for your pain. I do want you to know that I remember her and I always will. 

Mel, you were such a beautiful human. Inside and out. Your energy was infectious. You can light up a whole room. That smile, omg that big beautiful smile. Your soul was so pure. You were one of the realest most authentic people I know. I loved everything about your vibe. 

You were such a boss in my eyes. Strong. Smart. Hardworking.. to say the least. You held it down girl. You knew your business. And I loved that you would always do whatever it takes to hit that goal. That’s what I loved about you. You took ownership in your work and your ability to lead. You always were open to growing. Professionally and personally. That’s why we cliqued. 

You’ve supported me from day one. You empowered me. You helped me believe in myself! Whenever I needed a pick me up.. it was you who I called. 

I’m going to miss our conversations. I’m going to miss calling you about work stuff, running my ideas by you, I respected your opinion so much. I knew you would always keep it real with me. You were one of the first ppl I texted the day after I got engaged. When we finally got to talk about my engagement details... you made me feel so loved. It really just showed me how much you did care about me. 

I hope you know how deeply hurt I am. Until we meet again, Ange
