Partab "John" Singh

Partab "John" Singh was born on June 2, 1958 and suddenly passed away at his home at the age of 55 on January 8, 2014. He was born in Fiji and came to the United States when he was 9 years old. He graduated from Grace Davis High School in Modesto with honors and majored in Accounting at UC Berkeley.

He is survived by his wife, Darilynn Singh; daughter, Desiree Singh; twin sons, Jasper Singh and Joshua Singh; parents, Bawa and Prem Singh; sisters, Abtar Haddox, Hardeep Raiyn Moore and Sashmir Rai Garcia. He was preceded in death by his brother, Balwant "Bo" Singh.

Partab Singh opened the first Subway Sandwich shop in Modesto, CA. He also owned a furniture store in Turlock and was a very hard worker who devoted all his time in his business. Many who knew Partab would say he was one of the most sweetest, caring person in the world. He loved to fish and be in the outdoors. He was highly active in the Sikh Community. He will be missed by all his family members and he had lots of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who cared about him.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 17 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM, with a service on Saturday, January 18 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, both to be held at Lakewood Funeral Home (Heritage Chapel), 900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson, CA. Lakewood Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.

The public is invited for prayer services at the Hughson Gurdwara Sahib Temple, 5713 E. Hatch Rd., after the service.
