

Pauline to her friends, “Polly” to her extended family, but to all her grandchildren she was “Gwee.” Pauline was born in Blue Ridge, Texas on June 16, 1917 and she walked through the gates of Heaven into the presence of the Lord April 9, 2013. Born to John and Flora Jameson; Pauline was the last to pass away of 13 children. She moved to San Diego, Ca. in 1934. Pauline met and married the love of her life, Milton Swain, in 1935. She worked as a beauty operator until 1964 when she retired and moved to the Modesto area. Pauline was an active member of Calvary Temple for 34 years where she was involved in the Women’s Aglow. Pauline and Milton also enjoyed spending a lot of time traveling. They were married for 69 years until Milton’s passing in 2004. Spending time with family was one of Pauline’s favorite ways to spend her time. She loved cooking and quilting and loved to entertain; especially for family during holidays. Most recently she liked to fill her time with reading and bible study. Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, Milton Swain, daughter, Marilyn Moore, grandsons: Chuck Eickhorst and David Moore and one great grandchild. She is survived by, daughter, Barbara (Bill) Eickhorst, son-in-law, Ed Moore, grandchildren: Debi (Scott) Naylor, Suzanne (Pete) Harron, Terri (Randy) Woolstrum, and grand-daughter-in-law, Laverne Eickhorst, 8 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Ave. Hughson, 95326. Visitation on Wednesday, Apr. 24th from 4-8:00pm. Chapel service in the Riverside Chapel on Thursday, Apr. 25th at 10:00am. Our family would like to give a special thanks to the Gaither Family and all the wonderful staff at Valley Comfort Assisted Living, for the tender loving care they gave her these past few years.
