Phillip Austin passed away peacefully after a long illness. He was born in Bakersfield, California, and had moved to Ceres at a young age with his family.
Born to Harrison and Lela Austin, Phil attended Ceres High School and graduated in 1961. He worked for the Nestle Company for 25 years and managed rental property. He was known for his big smile and sense of humor. He loved dabbling in Real Estate and loved the challenge of taking a beat-up house and restoring it. There was nothing he couldn’t fix. He loved the simple pleasures in life.
Phil is survived by his wife Ida, and children Al Austin, Angie Haston, and Aaron Austin. He was the doting Grandpa to Alli Haston. He leaves a brother Harrison (Arlene) Austin and many nieces and nephews who loved him very much.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents Lela and Harrison Austin, sisters Louella (Frank) Malone and Wanda Shook. He touched many lives with his kind and caring ways. He made an impression and was a loyal and caring friend to all who knew him. He will be remembered for being a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather, as well as a dear friend to those lives he touched throughout the years.
“The measure and qualities of a good man is by his deeds.”
