Rebecca "Becky" Ortega-Harrington, 68, passed away on Jan. 6, 2025, in San Francisco. Born on Feb. 13, 1956, Rebecca dedicated her life to being a fierce friend and an unwavering advocate for her community in the unincorporated South Modesto. She was a member of the South Modesto MAC, on the board for American GI Forum, and proudly made the annual DDLM Event in Modesto what it is today.
A celebration of life will be held at Lakewood Memorial in Hughson on Feb. 21, 2025 at 2 p.m., followed by a remembrance party at the Stanislaus Co. Veterans Center on Sylvan Road in Modesto from 4-8 p.m.
She is survived by her mother Emily; her sister Alice and two nephews; and her three children, Matthew, Hillary, and Joshua.
Rebecca's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her and benefited from her dedication to friendship and community. May her legacy continue to inspire all who were touched by her life.
