On Saturday May 5th Jimmy passed peacefully into the loving arms of our Lord. He was home surrounded by his family. He was born to Everette and Ileen Tomlinson the youngest of 5 children. And was raised on the family farm in Hughson, CA. He attended Hughson schools and graduated in 1962. He met the love of his life Jackie Williams at his high school Baccalaureate service and married her July 16, 1965. He was a farmer and a heavy equipment mechanic for the Operating Engineers Local #3 for over 30 years. Work took him away from Hughson for 7 years but he returned to Hughson in 1977 and again began working the family farm until 2010. Jimmy loved to garden and work with his hands. He would design and draw plans for his “dream home”. In 1982, his plans were realized when he took a year off work to build a home out of an old family mule barn. He was really tickled when it was featured in the Home and Garden section of the Modesto Bee. Jimmy was kind, compassionate, humble, funny and always put others ahead of himself. He didn’t always have a lot to say, but when he spoke you listened. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hughson for over 30 years and Monte Vista Chapel for the last years. He is survived by his loving wife Jackie, daughter Kelly, son Jamie, daughter in law Donna, grandchildren Elijah(Kayla), Nathaniel, David, Jeremiah, Jonah, Jonathan, Chelsee, Jeanette great grandchildren Gavin and Elsie. He is also survived by his sister Eileen Ling, brother Everette Tomlinson and Nobuko Weigman. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Sierra Vista Child and Family Services 100 Poplar Avenue Modesto, CA 95354. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:00am at the Monte Vista Chapel South Education Building.
