It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father Rojelio Arauza.
Rojelio was born December 27, 1933 in Patambarillo, Michoacán, Mexico. The Lord called him to his side on January 23, 2025. Rojelio came to the United States at the age of 14, the youngest child of Jose and Elvira Arauza. He was a retired field worker and cannery worker. He resided in Riverbank, CA most of his life. He loved going to the flea market, fishing, eating good food with friends and going to the casino. He loved waking up to his cup of coffee and watching the morning news. Although he only had a 3rd grade education, he was smart and kept up on current affairs and political issues.
He loved to visit his family and friends, and always showed up with offerings of fruit and vegetables. He always went out of his way to help others and show hospitality.
He is survived by his 6 children: Maria Elvira Lopez of Riverbank (Sergio), George Arauza of Riverbank (Norma), Teresa Tovar of Modesto (Jesse), Virginia Madueno of Riverbank (Ramiro), Angelica Arauza of Manteca (Rob), Ignacio Arauza of Madera (Suzanna); 13 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
A Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 4PM to 8PM at Lakewood Funeral Home in the Riverside Chapel, located at 900 Santa Fe Avenue in Hughson,CA. A Rosary will begin at 6PM. The Funeral Mass will take place at 10AM on Friday, January 31, 2025 at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church, located at 2827 Topeka Street in Riverbank, CA. A Committal will be following at Lakewood Memorial Park in the S. Hyland Garden.
