

Mykola est né en Ukraine et a passé son enfance dans le village de Vepryk, dans la région de Poltava. Jeune homme, il s’est installé à Kyiv, où il a construit sa vie et vécu pendant de nombreuses années. En 2022, à la suite de l’invasion à grande échelle de l’Ukraine, il a pris la difficile décision de s’installer au Canada.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse bien-aimée, Oleksandra; ses enfants, Oleksandr (Yana) et Julia (Eugene); son frère Sergey (Maria); ainsi que ses chers petits-enfants, Kateryna, Kyrylo, Kathleen, Sofia et Yuriy. Il laisse également dans le deuil ses nièces, Tatiana et Liudmyla, ainsi que de nombreux amis qui garderont de lui un précieux souvenir.
La famille tient à exprimer sa sincère gratitude au personnel de l’Hôpital de Hull (Gatineau), de l’Hôpital de Wakefield, du CLSC de Masham et du CHSLD des Collines pour les soins et le soutien prodigués au cours des dernières années de sa vie.
Une célébration de la vie de Mykola aura lieu à la résidence familiale le 10 mai à 12 h.
Il restera dans les mémoires pour sa force, sa résilience et l’amour qu’il portait à ses proches.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mykola Pavlenko on April 1, 2026, at the age of 79.
Mykola was born in Ukraine and spent his early years in the village of Vepryk in the Poltava Region. As a young man, he moved to Kyiv, where he built his life and lived for many decades. In 2022, following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he made the difficult decision to relocate to Canada.
He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his devoted wife, Oleksandra; his children, Oleksandr (Yana) and Julia (Eugene); his brother Sergey (Maria); and his cherished grandchildren, Kateryna, Kyrylo, Kathleen, Sofia, and Yuriy. He also leaves behind his nieces, Tatiana and Liumdyla, along with extended family and friends who will remember him fondly.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Hull Hospital (Gatineau), Wakefield Hospital, CLSC Masham, and CHSLD des Collines for their compassionate care and support during his final years.
A celebration of Mykola’s life will be held at the family residence on May 10th at 12:00 p.m.
He will be remembered for his strength, resilience, and the love he shared with those around him.
