She grew up with 3 younger sisters Guera, Negra, Lupe & 1 brother Sam. When they weren’t laughing and having fun, being mischievous or picking on their little brother Sam, they were working out in the fields in the Panhandle. Bea being the oldest, the other siblings were quick to follow her lead. They have always had a tight bond with their big sister, who had always given lots of love and advice. She always understood the importance of family. Later in life she was blessed to meet and get to know and love her other brothers & sisters; Noe, Leonel, Gloria and Marisol.
She was a loving wife to her husband “Juan” and an very caring and giving mother to her 5 children:
Angelica, Loulie, J.R., Juanio & Andy. Some of the memories that her kids remember of her singing at the top of her lungs to her old school country & Spanish songs and Dancing around the house to Tejano music. They say you cook with LOVE and that she did! She could make a plain can of corn taste so Amazing! Her homemade tortillas, Thanksgiving stuffing, breakfast potatoes, carne con gravy, arroz con pollo, beans were some of her families favorites that we will all miss.
Bea has called many places all over Texas HOME including: Hereford, Tulia, Houston, Ft. Worth, Round Rock, Arlington and Tucson, Arizona. She has worked in many different industries from a field laborer, a convenient store clerk, Housekeeping/custodial, property & hotel management and restaurant hospitality or as she would say “The Hostess with the Mostest”!
She fell in love with her “tall, handsome, cowboy”, Art, and he literally swept her off her feet, especially while dancing!! They lived in Tucson, and he was able to show her another world. They hiked mountain sides, camped, did quite a bit of sight seeing, shot rifles, which was something he taught her to do. Bea was able to see and do amazing things, thanks to Art. They shared Lucky, their Husky. Art’s daughters welcomed her into their family and Bea quickly loved them as her own, especially his grandchildren. Art, our family is forever grateful for you and your amazing family for loving Bea as much as you did. YOU made Bea happy self again. We are fortunate that she had YOU in her life, Art and Bea are proof that love conquers all.
Bea had never met a stranger, and she was known by many names: Beatrice, Mrs Bea, Grandma Bea, Aunt Bea, Conrad, Momma Bea, but before all those names, she was simply Mom. She was a loving, caring, wonderful woman that had a smile that could light up the darkest room, and had a heart as BIG as Texas. She had a great sense of humor, what we’ll remember are those jokes that she couldn’t finish saying the punchline too because she couldn’t stop laughing long enough. She was the biggest Houston Texans talker, win or lose!! GOOOO TEXANS!!! She loved to reminisce with the family and play Texas hold Hold’em, or 31. She could a eat a bag of Lays and drink Diet Coke all day!! She had tons of food favorites, especially tamales and fried chicken. She always liked her pedicures or getting her toddies done as she would say.
Bea was a very strong woman of Faith and had an everlasting love for the Lord. She was sending many blessings and prayers over her loved ones, and she would always call on her prayer warriors when she needed some uplifting of her own. She had grown very tired, and now she is finally “Home”.
