

Candan Shay Tautenhahn was born August 26, 1975 in Houston, Texas and died February 20, 2019 in Pasadena, TX. She was a graduate of Humble High School, Class of 1994 where she enjoyed Cosmetology class and was on the United States National Dean's List. While growing up, some of her best friends were Nichole Titus, Amy Watson and Oliva Olsen.
Candan enjoyed fashion, beauty and makeup. Candan had her hair every color of the rainbow. She loved all animals; owning hamsters, cats, pot belly pig and at one time even had a talking parrot. She attended Higher education and became a Veterinarian Technician as well as Licensed Cosmetologist. Candan was someone who wanted to be open as she was comfortable with the people around her. She was known for standing up for the underdog, having a heart of gold, and a smile that could dazzle everyone. Candan never avoided conflict and was even known as a rebel at times.
Candan has family that awaits her in Heaven including grandmother, Maisie Tautenhahn; grandmother, Fern Emery; and cousin, Jennifer Hardgrove.
Candan is survived by her son, Jakub Champion; mother, Barbara Horelica; father, Don Tautenhahn; sister, Ashley Roach; brother, Shawn Roach; and uncle, Jack Lawson. Other family members surviving include her nephews, A.J. Genzer, Jayce Vienneau and Devon Roach.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Candan Shay Tautenhahn will be 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery 21723 Aldine Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338 (281)443-3340. The family will receive friends 10:00A.M. until service time on Monday, February 25, 2019 at the funeral home.
