Carmen San Nicolas DeLa Cruz

Carmen was born on December 11, 1943 on the island of Yap to Joaquin Cruz San Nicolas and Ana Lizama San Nicolas. At the age of two, her family relocated to Saipan, where she spent the majority of her life. On July 1, 1961, she married Thomas Castro Dela Cruz and together they had eight children.

Carmen had a passion for cooking, family, and our Lord Jesus Christ. She served the San Antonio Parish in Saipan for the better part of 40 years. Along with her siblings, she commissioned the building of a Chapel on the San Nicolas family property. Carmen was the matriarch of the Katmelo clan. She used the bible as a guide to teach humility, civility, and virtue. Many family members and friends sought her advice on all things, and her generosity of spirit knew no bounds. She brought up her own children, but also had a hand in raising her numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In her passing, she reunites with her husband, her daughter, granddaughter, great-grandson, her parents, parents in laws (Jose Cruz and Rita Castro Dela Cruz) (sisters and in-laws (Maria Lizama San Nicolas), (Dolores SN. & Ignacio C. Camacho), (Consolacion SN. & Jose Aquiningoc & Antonio Borja), (Lorenza SN. & David L. Warnick), (Luise D. San Nicolas), (Marlene C. San Nicolas), brother in-laws & sister in-laws, (Jose Castro Dela Cruz), (Domingo Castro Dela Cruz & Lourdes Palacios Dela Cruz), (Jesus Castro Dela Cruz), (Victorina Castro Dela Cruz) and (Rosita Castro Dela Cruz). She will forever live on in the hearts of her:
