as a gem, she'd have been a perfect pearl.
Her bright blue eyes how they did twinkle
a message told you she was special!
Her skin was clear, almost porcelain like
her face was the picture, her smile was the light
She could be silly and serious too,
and still steal your heart away from you.
Her hands could tell a story and more
her voice was a gift she gave back to the Lord.
And sharing God's Love and God's Good News
were God's own Words not just her point-of-view.
Well pearls may not sparkle, but they do shine
as do God's children, and this child of mine.
Thank you dear Lord, for my little girl
as a gem, she'd have been a perfect pearl.
