Claude Edward Ward was born June 2, 1952 to the late Rev. Willie H. Ward and Inetta Ward he was raised in Beaumont, Texas. He became a Christian at an early age, as a child he was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church where his father was the Pastor.
He attended Martin Elementary School, Lincoln Junior High and graduated from Charlton Pollard High School in the top 10% honor Magnum Cum class of 1970. He played on the varsity football team which they went the state championship #64. He went on to Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and majored in Engineer and minor in Marketing. After graduating he worked for Exxon Refinery in Baytown on April 4, 1974 at the age of 21 and move up the ladder very fast and was in Administration “White House” at that time he became an engineer inspector who designed tanks.
He married Doris Ford on August 16, 1975 after which they lived in Baytown for a year and then moved to Houston in 1976.
He retired from Exxon Mobile in 2005 after 39 years of service. After retirement they moved to Spring.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles Ward; sister-in-law, Brenda Ward.
Leaving to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 42 years, Doris Ford Ward; two beautiful daughters, Candice Denise Hinton of Spring, Texas and Shayna Bianca Ward of Houston, Texas; sister, Linda Ward Cargile of Beaumont, Texas; brothers, Willie Tee Ward of Beaumont, Texas, Henry Ward and his wife Debra of Beaumont, Texas, Keith Ward of Vallego, California; three grandchildren, Trinity Simone Enecio (10), Rodrin Richard Hinton, Jr. (2) and Cheynenne Denise Hinton (1); godson, David Colton; god daughter, Tiffany Smith along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
