Gilda Marie Foster

Our beloved Gilda Marie (Usher) Foster of The Woodlands, Texas went home to be with her Lord & Savior on Saturday, May 13, 2023, after an 8 long year battle with dementia at the young age of 69. Gilda was born on May 25, 1953, to Gilbert & Mae Usher in Houston, Texas. After graduating from Klein High School in 1971, she went to work in the food service business for over 47 years. Gilda was a deli & bakery manager at Kroger & Randall's for many years. She then moved to College Station & ran 6 restaurants at Texas A&M University for serval years & then moved back to The Woodlands area & retired from Lone Star Community College. While at Texas A&M Gilda started attending classes & became a Certified Chef then she completed her associate degree at Lone Start Community College (Kingwood) & she then went on to receive her Bachelor of Business Administration & Psychology from AIU.

Gilda married Tyrus B Foster on May 20, 1978 & they raised their children together in Conroe, Texas. Gilda enjoyed spending time with family, cooking & sharing the love of Jesus to everyone she knew. She was the life of the party & had the best laugh that most people had ever heard. Gilda is a published author of a book titled Trust Again, telling her life story of how through her relationship with Jesus Christ she learned to trust not only in The Lord but also to trust & forgive others.

Gilda leaves behind her siblings Barbara Benfer, Kathie Grimmer (Bud), Gilbert Usher (Renee) & Ricky Usher. Her daughters Denise M Powers (Damien), Rebecca Spencer (Dale), Leah Foster-Clemonds (Jennifer) & son Paul Foster. Her 10 grandchildren Justin Spencer, Brandon Spencer, Allyson Wessale, Ashley Frields, Megan Medeiros, Ashley Colley, Tyler Powers, Aaron Powers, Makalie Clemonds & Jessica Foster. Her 6 great granddaughters Clementine, Jenna, June, Paisley, Delaney, Aubrey & 1 great grandson Hudson, due in late September & her many nieces & nephews.

Gilda is proceeded in death by her parents Gilbert & Mae Usher, her older brother Russell Usher & her granddaughter Ciara Hope Foster.

A visitation for Gilda will be held Monday, May 22, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cem, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX. A committal service will occur Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX.
