He was born in Mississippi on March 4th, 1950 to his parents James and Bernice Renfroe where he grew up with his four sisters Janey, Judy, Becky and Shirley. James, often known as Jim or Jimmy, was a kind, gentle and quiet man who was quick witted and incredibly wise. Jim served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam war and once he was discharged he went on to study chemical engineering at Mississippi State and eventually embarked on a lifelong career in the field where he was very loved and respected in his community.
James was a loving father who will be dearly missed. He is survived by his four children Jessica, Christopher, Kathryn and Joseph - as well as his son-in-law Heath Finnie and his grandson Alden Finnie. Our time with him was full of love and cherished memories that we will hold close to us as we continue to honor his memory. He was a dedicated husband of 32 years to his late wife Kathleen (Kay) Renfroe - after 2 years apart they have been reunited for good and we know they’re thrilled to be together again.
As we lay James to rest, we hold space for this gentle soul who made a lasting impact on so many people's lives. He wore so many hats as a father, dedicated husband, mentor, inventor, veteran, and so much more. His 73 years on this Earth were full of adventure, perseverance, and fueled by his drive to learn more every day. While we know his passing will leave a large hole in our hearts, he is with us every day.
We thank him for all the love, knowledge, and guidance he gave us during our time with him. May his memory be a blessing.
Calvary would like to thank the family for the honor of allowing our staff to care for Mr. James Henry Renfroe Jr. and allow us to assist with services.
