He received his education from Alfred Lawless Senior High and Sidney Collier Vocational Technical School in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He accepted Christ in 2007 and worshiped at Praise Church of God In Christ in Houston, Texas. On November 6, 1975 he united in marriage with Josie Haney-Walker. James was a loving father to Jamie Christine Walker-Johnson, Josie Cassandra Walker and Ryan Leo Johnson.
In his leisure time Brother James loved praising the Lord, spending time with the love of his life Josie and his four beautiful granddaughters; he also enjoyed woodwork, gardening, traveling and fishing with his loving son in law Ryan Leo Johnson.
On Monday February 27, 2017 James Earl Walker departed this life. He was preceded in rest by his parent Jimmy and Deather Walker.
He leaves love and memories with wife Josie Haney-Walker a devoted wife, caregiver and companion; his daughter, Jamie Christine Walker-Johnson, a devoted daughter and caregiver who went far and beyond the call of duty for her father; his beloved son in law Ryan Leo Johnson; his daughter Josie Cassandra Walker, who is the apple of his eye; his grandchildren, Destiny Johnson, Abbigale Perkins, Faith Johnson and Essence Johnson; his sisters, Lisa Walker, Shirley Allen, Betty Thompson, Bishop Bobby Connerly, Dora Harrison and Katherine Dellion; his brothers, Sonny Walker, Jack Walker, Fred Walker and Eddie Walker. James also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends to treasure his memory forever.
