

Lila May Reid Waring, 75, passed away on March 28, 2026, in Spring, Texas. She was born May 28, 1950, in Lytton Springs, Texas, to Bartlett Simms Reid and Lula Jane Reid. A beloved, cherished, and adventurous woman, Lila will be remembered for the steady care she gave to those around her and the warmth she brought to everyday life.
Lila was married to her former husband, Michael Thomson Sr., in September of 1969 in Porter, Texas. She later married her former husband, George Waring Jr., in August of 1975 in Dayton, Texas.
Over the years, Lila built a dedicated working life marked by reliability and professionalism. She served as an Administrative Assistant at Houston Natural Gas for 5 years, worked in Accounts Receivable at American Rice Growers for 4 years, and held a position as a Mortgage Loan Officer at Heritage Mortgage for 2 years. She was also an Executive Assistant at Trinity Marine Platzer Shipyard for 2 years, an Office Manager at Fraziska Group for 5 years, and a Financial Proofreading Specialist at Melton and Melton LLP for 16 years.
Lila found joy in gardening, reading, sewing, birdwatching, hiking, traveling, and dancing. She especially loved spending time with her beloved dogs, Mystry and Chloe, and her beloved cats, Mist and Demon.
Lila is survived by her daughters, Angela Michele Noack and Troy Noack, of Anahuac, Texas, and Jessica Sue Waring of Spring, Texas. She is also survived by her sons, Michael Craig Thomson Jr. and Shannon Gonce of Bonner, Montana, and John William Waring of Spring, Texas. She is further survived by her sister, Shirley Ann Reid Embry of Bedias, Texas, and her brother, Edward Allen Reid and his spouse Peggy Reid of Crockett, Texas.
She is also survived by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Kendra and Juan Gomez, Jesi and Brad Hadnot, Kirstie and Billy Young, Chris Thomson, Austin and Breanna Stepelton, Dallas Stepelton, Tyler Gonce, Talen and Hailey Waring, Paiton Rubio, Kaila Waring Ranzeiro, and Aiden Waring.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lula Jane Tillman Reid; her father, Bartlett Simms Reid; her sister, Betty Jane Reid Rice; her brother-in-law, Richard Gene Rice; and her granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Thomson.
Visitation will be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cem, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338, on April 3, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cem on April 4, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Committal Service will be held at External Service Location, 6150 TX-304, Rosanky, TX 78953, on April 4, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
