Very sad news about Lin. I will always be grateful for the help, support and valuable counsel that he gave me back in the early Croydon days during the 60's. We had many seismic campaigns together -  Croydon, Africa especially Nigeria, The Middle East, especially Saudi ,then  Russia & Eastern Europe and finally Dallas.
Our first encounter was on the ground floor Canterbury House, Sydenham Road , Croydon -  June,1968. Trini, Lin and the family kindly relieved us of our rental commitment in Dave & Anna Fine's house in Old Lane, Tatsfield, when we were transferred to Beirut. I believe the family were very happy there, I know Lin was a regular at the White Horse pub on the green. Lin will always be remembered for his operational seismic knowledge and his diplomatic skills. He had a splendid way of calming a crisis situation down with common sense, while many of us "hotheads" may have taken a wrong path.
Thanks also to Trini, for all her hospitality on the countless occasions that I came to visit on my temporary travel assignments.

I am extremely saddened to hear of Lin’s passing.  He was a good friend and co-worker at GSI. My very first encounter with Lin was in 1977 in Saudi Arabia, when I had gone there from Cairo to fix a broken TIMAP computer system. He was the regional manager there at the time, and the morning after I arrived, he came to the Data Center to introduce himself and offer any help I might need with parts and logistics. 
After I moved to Dallas in the early 1980’s, we worked closely on several bids for deployment of seismic processing systems for Latin America. Later, in the mid to late 1980’s, we connected many times in several places - Jakarta, Pekanbaru, Beijing, Singapore, and New Delhi - where we were working to try and secure contracts for the sale and commissioning of GSI’s pioneering Interactive Interpretation systems (SIDIS). We continued to work very closely on many projects, until the sale of GSI to Halliburton in the late 1980’s. During many, many moments over drinks and meals, he would always talk fondly about his family. And his love of tennis!!  
Lin and I met again at the GSI Reunion in 2009 and reminisced over old times (then!). Sadly, I don’t believe we saw each other too many times after that, although I used to periodically get news about him from mutual friends.
Indeed, the world has lost a good person. May his soul rest in peace.  My deepest sympathies go out to his family at this difficult time.

Lin and I became acquainted each time he came to Dallas from some far-off part of this world and he would tell us stories which made us feel as if we had been there.  He was a great guy and will be missed by all who knew him.  I worked in the GSI personnel office from 1965-1987 when TI sold us to Halliburton.

PS there are still a dwindling number of Doodlebuggers around the globe.

I am saddened to hear of Lin's death and send to Trinie and the rest of the family my heart felt sympathy. My wife Adriana and I were so graciously received by Lin and Trinie into their home in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia for the summer of 1977 when I was assigned there to relieve Lin for their family's semi-annual home leave.

Dear Trinie and Family,

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this incredibly difficult time.

It hurts profoundly to know that Lin is no longer with us. Yet, there is some peace in knowing he is no longer in pain. Lin was not just a remarkable person — he was a guiding light in my life. My first boss, a dear friend, a father figure. His wisdom, kindness, and generosity left an everlasting mark on me and my family.

Our friendship began many years ago when Lin worked in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Thanks to the support and kindness of both Lin and you, Trinie, we were able to come to the United States. I will always carry with me the warmth of being welcomed as part of your family — invited to every holiday, treated with care and love.

I treasure the long talks we shared over tea in the living room, listening to Lin’s stories about his work around the world. He had a way of making people feel seen, understood, and valued. I learned so much from him — about life, integrity, and perseverance.

I feel so fortunate to have known Lin, and I deeply regret that we didn’t have more time together after my family moved to New York. Still, the memories remain vivid, and they will live on in my heart.

Rest in peace, dear Lin. Your light and spirit will never be forgotten.
