On October 12, 2019, Marilyn married the love of her life, Kevin John Rakowski. Together, they built a home filled with faith, love, and laughter.
Marilyn was a devoted and compassionate registered nurse for over a decade, serving patients at esteemed institutions such as MD Anderson, Baylor College of Medicine, Fresenius, and Memorial Hermann. Her kindness, strength, and dedication to helping others were hallmarks of her career and character.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Marilyn served her country honorably as an E3 Private First Class. Her service was a reflection of her deep sense of duty and resilience.
Outside of her professional and military accomplishments, Marilyn found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved cooking, listening to music, and studying the Bible. Her unwavering faith in God was central to her life and a guiding light in all she did.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, Kevin John Rakowski of Tomball, Texas; her cherished sons, Joseph Poole Jr. and Kendrick Marasigan; her devoted brothers, Andrew Rodas and Erick Rodas; and her caring parents-in-law, Gary and Joanne Rakowski of Burleson, Texas.
She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her giving heart, and her deep love for her family and faith. Marilyn’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A graveside service for Marilyn will be held Monday, June 16, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 21723 Aldine Westfield Rd, Humble, TX 77338.
