Ollie V. Washington

She was married to Matthew Haywood in 1986. Ollie had a career in First Transit, Operator and Management for 33 years. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, gambling and having good times with family and friends. She was a devoted member and usher of Jesus Way Bible Fellowship Church under the leadership of Victor L. Archer.

She is survived by her children Wendell C. Washington Sr. (Pam Washington), Yvette Petitt (Zachary A. Petitt). Her sister Faye Washington and brother Lawrence Adams and four grandchildren: Zachary E. Petitt ( Tashara Perston Petitt), Wendell Washington Jr., Cykeria Petitt, Tamara Brooks-Thomas (Eugene Thomas), her great grandchildren Caylee Cook, Lauren Cook, Riley Washington, Azaiah Hines and Khamron Brooks: honorary daughter Kamesha Ward.

She is preceded in death by her husband Matthew Haywood,sister Minnie Adams, and brother Clarence Adams, her parents Nelson Washington and Leola Adams, her grandparents Lizzy B. Jones of Mansfield Louisiana, daughter in law Pamela Washington.

A visitation will be held at Jesus Way Bible Fellowship Church, located at 4005 Kress St, Houston, TX, 77026, on December 6, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The funeral service will follow at the same location, starting at 11:00 am.

The committal service is scheduled for December 8, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX, 77038.
