He was born in Kennett, MO on July 27, 1956. Ricky graduated from Columbia High School and received his High School Diploma. He married Bonnie Sue Shackelford (Herbeck) on December 27, 1974.
Ricky worked in Mechanics for Union Pacific Railroad.
He had a passion for motocross, which led to the opening of Choice Motorsports, on July 4, 1998.
He is survived by Terra (Keith) Thomas of Rockport, TX, Ricky (Leah) Shackelford of Magnolia, TX , Alan (Jessica) of Spring, TX . 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters Rod (Renee) Shackelford, Patricia (Joe) Cyvas, Sandra Kaye (Billy) Pretto, Christie (Robert) Newell.
He is preceded in death by his parents: R. L. and Wanda Shackelford.
