After retiring Robert had varying jobs from banking, to electrician for Stewart and Stevenson. Robert decided to go into semi-retirement the last several years, working at the local Lowe’s home improvement location in Spring, Texas until he became ill on December 24, 2014. One of the many highlights of Robert’s was his many golf dates with son Robert, which grandson Joshua took up with him as well. He loved family gatherings; his specialty was cooking the turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas every year. Robert loved going to see the accomplishments from all of his children and grandchildren from sporting events to graduations.
Robert was a devout Catholic, serving as Door Greeter, and was on The Respect for Life committee at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church. He and his wife Lucy became sponsors for members of St. James as well. Robert also played a significant role for the Knights of Columbus. He gave himself to St. James and the Knights of Columbus and would do absolutely anything requested of him over the past several years. His continued faith helped carry Robert throughout his illness, never losing hope. Robert passed away with all of his family surrounding him at home. Robert’s legacy will live on through the caring compassion he had for others, always lending a hand, a hug or a smile to all. Robert’s truest of devotion was to his wife, his children, his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. Rest in Peace R.O., you are now in the arms of the Angels.
