He was born in Waterloo, Iowa on February 26, 1948 and graduated from Oconto Falls High School in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin in 1966. Roger received a Civil Engineering Certificate from Houston Community College. He was married to his 1st wife Kathleen VanArk for 34 years and then married his 2nd wife Maria Del Rosario Chavez.
Roger worked as a Senior Survey Coordinator for Harris County Flood Control District for more than 39 years. He was a member of NRA, Amateur Radio Service with a HAM radio license and had a passion for riding his Harley, gardening, Tequila, cigarettes and listening to Loretta Lynn, Willie Nelson and Patsy Cline, he was a friend to all, the friend everyone wanted to have, had a mind blowing ability to fix cars and anything else needing repairs.
He was survived by his wife Maria Del Rosario Chavez Berry; children Amanda, Angela, Adam Daniel, Mauro, Adam, Kevin and Luke; grandchildren Ashlea & Luke Perales, Daniel & Michael Berry, Jessica & Alexis Berry, Nathaniel, Mia, Brasi and Antonio and great granddaughter Alicia.
A visitation for Roger will be held Friday, September 15, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cem, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 15, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338. A committal will occur Friday, September 15, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cremations, 21723 Aldine Westfield Rd, Humble, TX 77338.
